There was minor changes to the MGA
over
time. Therefore, some visual details helps to tell the difference
between a 1955 MGA 1500, a 1959 MGA 1600, a 1600 Mark 2 and a Twin Cam
/ Deluxe.

On front side the MGA 1600 only differs from the 1500 by
its larger parking lamps with flat lenses.
|

The difference is more obvious on the MGA 1600 Mk2. Now parking
lenses are separated from flashers, and the front
grille is recessed. |

A new badge is added next to the bonnet vent grille. It reads
"1600" on 1600 MGAs
|

And it logically changed with the MGA 1600 MkII.
|

The same 1600 MkII badge is added on the bootlid.
|

A rear view of two MGAs : left is a 1600 MkII and right is a 1600.
|

Closer, you can see the MGA 1600 was added a separate indicator lamp,
still on the rear wing. |

While the1600 Mk2 has a new Austin Mini lens now located horizontally
on the rear valance.
|

The MGA was the first modern style MG (in opposition with the T
midget's pre ww2 style).
|

A tonneau cover is an
essential equipment to protect the car's interior from burning sun or
light rains. |

The MGA's body curves make many enthusiasts consider it as the nicest
post war MG.
|

The 1600 Mark 2 MGA's
dashboard matches the trim colour.
|

Fast and Fragile.

Centre lock steel wheels are
unique to the Twin Cam and Deluxe MGAs..
|

The Twin Cam is the
last MG developed engine. Next MG engines are Austin series
A (Midget), B (MGB), C (MGC) or Rover (MGB GT V8). |

The Twin Cam or Deluxe badges
replace 1600 and 1600 MkII.
